BIOGRAPHY
The Dead Silent is a Groove/Trash Metal band from Funchal / Madeira / Portugal, with features that could be attributed to different sub genres follows that the band prefers to avoid paste to a specific genre and the metal in general is even common influence to the elements and sound of the band. This musical force rose from the ashes of Blue Sound Traffic, consisting of elements that went through several bands of the regional panorama as the Blue Sound Traffic themselves, Drawned in Tears, Requiem Laus, Extended, Outerskin, Reincarnation and Insania.
After that is the adventure Blue Sound Traffic, his guitarist and drummer - respectively Saul Caires and Jorge de Abreu - joined other three experienced musicians from Madeira and advanced to a project more dynamic and modern contours. Called Dead Silent and released an EP composed of three themes in 2007 with Dieter Pereira (DD Peartree, former Silverdrop, former Blue Sound Trafic) on vocals and Ângelo Sousa (Ex Sidewalk) on bass as a session musician.
Now comes to a long-lasting eight tracks, which explains more fully their thrash / groove metal. One of the great surprises of "The Island" is how the Dead Silent can balance the more rhythmic and serious side of your sound with the typical "cutter" approach to traditional thrash. A mix that sounds natural, to which many bands with decades of experience can not access, and in Funchal quartet seems to flow naturally. Then the experience gained in projects such as Blue Sound Traffic, Requiem Laus, drawned in Tears, Extended, Outerskin, Reincarnation or Insania gives project musicians cohesion and ease to jump from a gigantic riff to an almost-progressive soil or to a melancholy guitar lead that does not compromise the coherence of the songs.
