Eternal Storm - (2013-2014) [ Full Discography] - Bandcamp Stream

 BIOGRAPHY

Eternal Storm is a Melodic Extreme Metal band that was created in late 2006 under the name of Death Valley by Kheryon (vocals) and Tephros (drums, ex-Beneath Your Fears) along with another musicians. The band pretended to play some kind of symphonic black metal but went into a hiatus shortly after. Some later, in late 2007, Kheryon (now playing bass too) and Tephros reformed Death Valley and brought Daniel Maganto as guitarist. After a few rehearsals Daniel invited his friend Jaime Torres to join as second guitarist: now that a line-up was established they started to write music in the vein of old school melodic death metal with some black metal touches and other traces of their own, blending aggression with melodic guitar work and epic riffs as well as atmospheric nuances. Tephros left the band some time after due to schedule problems. The band spent a short period as a trio and then a couple of months jamming with Carlos Gumuzio (currently in The Descent), who would eventually leave the band in order to spend more time in his other projects as a vocalist.

During mid 2009 Death Valley changed his name to Eternal Storm just before recording their first songs: the new name shows the progression in the band's style and concept. In October 2009, Ramón Mejías de Salas joined Eternal Storm and the quartet started to perform their first shows. After some difficult times which followed Ramon's departure, it was in July 2011 when Luis "Lucho" Rodríguez from the almighty progressive metalheads Distance defined the lineup and some months later recorded what would become their debut EP 'From the Ashes', which was released in Spring 2013 and was critically acclaimed internationally, gaining them the title of the "Most Promising Band of 2013" by the respected webzine TheDrinkTim.

Shortly after the release of their debut EP the band played numerous shows all over the Iberian peninsula and including a slot at the well-known Portuguese extreme metal festival SWR Barroselas, apart from opening for legendary acts such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Leprous, Lock Up or Blindead.

Members also play(ed) in Distance, Under Vultures, Dremenuart, Clockwork, Outer Heaven, Totëmwolf, As Light Dies, Against The Waves and The Ytriple Corporation.

So far, Eternal Storm has played with bands such as Moonspell, Septicflesh, The Black Dahlia Murder (USA), Gorguts (Can), Leprous (Nor), Misery Index (USA), Lock Up (UK/Swe), Negura Bunget (Rom), Blindead (Pol), Nami (And), Horn of the Rhino, Darkness By Oath, Kathaarsys, Muerte Por Mil Cortes, Moonloop, Noctem, Apocynthion...Now you only have to wait for the unleashing of the Storm...

Solipsist - (2007-2015) [ Full Discography] - Bandcamp Stream

BIOGRAPHY

Solipsist is a five piece metal outfit from Cleveland, OH. After their first EP “Medicate the Masses” in 2007 Solipsist has worked at perfecting a style of metal distinctly their own. Using grassroots marketing and self- producing their latest record “The Human Equation” the band has solidified its place as one of the best metals band to come out of Cleveland since Chimaira. Solipsist’s efforts have not gone unnoticed, performing with hometown heroes such as the above mentioned Chimaira and underground legends Mushroomhead. Headlining venues such as the Legendary Peabody’s Down Under to 600+ fans, the band is holding their own with Cleveland’s biggest acts. All while continuing to write new music for the new E.P. "Extinction Protocol" and performing regionally around NE Ohio.
They are a self-sufficient band that writes, produces, and records all the music that you hear on each of their four releases to date.
“The Human Equation” was Solipsists’ first full length studio album. Pre-production began in April 2010 and was release October 2010. The CD features 10 crushing tracks that display the musical diversity of Solipsist. This is the first release with current guitar player Mark Witherspoon.
In March 24th they released a masterpiece album that show the evolution of the band, for me is the best record so far, has heavy riffs, nice melodies an very good vocals.  I realy im expecting that other people try to know and hear this very good band that i recomend.

Solipsist’s latest effort “The Human Equation” has helped to expand the band into new markets with their unique brand of brutality. Getting featured on national media sites such as MetalSucks.net and blogs nationwide it shows that awesome music and word of mouth can still go a long way.
“The Human Equation starts with the sound of acoustic guitars. But the tenderness doesn't last long: Harsh vocals and deafening guitars soon bust into the album's opening song, "Heaven's Assault." Front man Noah Buchanan roars more than he sings, sounding like a wounded demon as the band turns downright menacing on songs like "The Catharsis of Man" and "Eternal Drought." And they get brutally epic on The Human Equation's centerpiece, "Queen of Abandonment." There's a bluesy swagger to "Heretic," and "New Form" is a pretty acoustic ballad, but this isn't an album for the faint of heart.. It's an exercise in vicious force.” (Jeff Niesel - Scene Magazine)

Cleveland has always been notable for turning out great bands. Solipsist is the next one to watch follow in that line, after all this is the birthplace of Rock and Roll.
“…this isn’t an album for the faint of heart… It’s an exercise in vicious force.” (Jeff Niesel, Scene Magazine)
“Extinction Protocol” was released April 14, 2012 in their hometown. It is their most intense effort to date, featuring six tracks that will leave you with an experience to remember. The music shows their maturity and that they have no boundaries in the way they write their music. “Extinction Protocol” will solidify their place in the modern metal music scene.

“These songs are fierce, with a level of musicianship seldom seen in this genre.” (Chris Akin, Pittriff.com)
For the past six years, Solipsist has been producing and releasing albums independently. They do it for the love of metal, and are not concerned with conforming to one genre. If you ask them they will say “we are a metal band, and we play metal music.”
“These guys have a huge metal sound, and not the sound that plagues so many bands of this genre in an effort to just play fast. The thickness and speed of the riffs on songs like “Trenches” is absolutely compelling.” (Chris Akin, Pitriff.com)

“Solipsist continues to not only redefine the term metal but the term heavy as well. Yet again Ohio throws down the challenge of brutal bloodied metal and dares others to step up and face the music. If there was justice to be found in the world of heavy metal Solipsist would no longer be an unknown name. For the time being those of us in Ohio should make the most of it and enjoy this underground bulldozer of a band.” (Andy Davis, Heavy Metal Time Machine)

These guys are solid.” (Vince Neilstein, Metalsucks.net)

“I am absolutely sick of hearing old worn down cliché’s that “local” or “unsigned” talent is weak, because bands like Solipsist continually prove it wrong. Though there may not be another “local” metal band that can be compared to Solipsist, they provide other bands with a framework to work from, though now the bar has been set quite high.” (Christopher Marinin, Ghost Laboratories)

“Solipsist is more powerful than a ten ton grizzly bear with shoulder mounted machine guns that fire explosive bacon bits which turn into unicorns once digested, which in turn bust through your stomach with their all-mighty unicorn horns, leaving you to die a painful, agonizing, but yet delicious death.” (Bryson City Breakdown)

Ethereal - Full Discography (2011-2014) - Bandcamp Stream

BIOGRAPHY
Ethereal is about one thing and one thing only: creating overwhelming, jaw-dropping music which guarantees a good-old ache in the neck tomorrow morning. While the bands’ five musicians can show skills that put them in the Premier League of the Dutch metal scene, they are not afraid to mix solid songwriting with a decent dose of showmanship.

Thus, guitarist Michiel Quakernaat and synth virtuoso Uri Dijk (who won the “Best Musician” award at the 2010 Grote Prijs van Nederland) will give you dual solos rarely seen in the metal genre. There will be sticktricks, and a bassplayer who loves running around stages as fast as possible. You will get frontman Daniel Verbrugge, officially ranked top-three Dutch grunter of 2009, and drummer Eelco van der Meer, who’s vast experience makes him the perfect and impressive motor for the band. Moreover, you will get movement, passion, surprises, massive energy, moshpits. You will get everything you hope for when visiting a metal show.

Ethereal, formed by Michiel Quakernaat and Uri Dijk in 2005, got into serious business upon releasing their 2008 “Prologue” ep. Early 2009, the band added bassplayer Bjorn van der Ploeg (Trip Trigger) and drummer Eelco van der Meer (Last Breath Denied, Cirrha Niva) to its line-up. It proved an excellent move: after performing for the first time in June 2009, Ethereal went through an extremely successful season.

The quintet played over 40 shows throughout The Netherlands, including major festivals such as Bevrijdingspop (Haarlem) and Werfpop (Leiden). Out of nowhere, the band won the prestigious Rob Acda Award, as single loudest band ever. In Deptember 2010, Ethereal performed an astonishing show at the Melkweg in Amsterdam, and took home the Grote Prijs van Nederland, by far Holland’s largest band competition. After releasing their second ep “Lunacy Falls” in January 2011, Ethereal will continue to conquer the Dutch metal scene. This is the start of something that is about to get a lot bigger.

So, what do you get when combining Lamb of God’s astonishingly raw energy with the melodic powerplay of, let’s say, Children of Bodom? You will experience a band who’s classical and prog influences are as present and impressive as are their brutal and epic riffs. A band who’s live performances are unlevelled. A band, most of all, which will satisfy the needs of every person who loves loud music. This is ETHEREAL. “Convincing performance, genre-surpassing and accessible. This band has a very strong sound with international potential!” (2010 Grote Prijs van Nederland judges) “The band is clearly experienced and plays extremely tight…. the grunts seem to be everlasting… this band needs no masquerade to come across professionally and very convincing… there is a large audience for this genre, and as long as the Dutch metal scene exists, Ethereal is able to conquer it!” (2010 Rob Acda Award jury) “After winning the 2010 Rob Acda Award with an overwhelming performance, Ethereal proves to be worthy of this title today.

Although their symphonic metal is louder than anything that has ever opened this Liberation Festival, their attention for detail is very clear. Rhythms and solos are far from usual, but the bands’technical skill are beyond any doubt – and we haven’t even mentioned Daniel Verbrugge’s impressive vocal abilities. Ethereal transforms the huge stage to their territory in a very convincing way. Moving from Patronaat’s second hall to the main stage of one of the biggest pop festivals in The Netherlands, the band shows us where believing in your own music can take you!” (3voor12 Noord-Holland) “A massive, deafening concrete wall of music… dazzling speed… impressive combination of sound and energy… Ethereal uses brutal force in a beautiful way” (3voor12 Den Haag)

Nightland - (2012-2015) [ Full Discography] - Bandcamp Stream

Biography

Nightland were formed in Pesaro in 2007 for the will of the singer and guitarist Ludovico Cioffi, to whom several years ago several musicians are added, before arriving to the present formation formed by Filippo Scrima (Guitar), Francesco Ambrogiani (Keyboards), Brendan Paolini ) and Filippo Cicoria (Battery).

Very active on the live and musically receptive fronts for contemporary productions of symphonic, death, folk and viking, the five propose to combine these influences with a scream / growl singing alternating with epic and powerful choirs. So after a first ep "Knights of the Dark Empire" (2011), in 2012 is the turn of "In Solemn Rise", a 5-track ep by which it is extracted as single / video "Diamond Siren", a further step forward which brings the band to an intense live activity (opening for Suffilation, Cephalic Carnage, Vision Divine, Ancient Bards, Havok, Eyeconoclast), embellished with scenic elements that will become a constant during subsequent performances.

By the end of 2013, the Nightland came into the studio to begin working on the first full-length album titled "Obsession", which represents a new exciting chapter in their career taking on new stylistic nuances. The same definition of "Epic Death Metal" begins to take on less defined and wider contours, the sound becomes more aggressive, the keyboard riffs of the 90s power are almost completely abandoned to give space to powerful orchestrations and symphonic choirs. Even the content is more dull, the themes are dramatic, at times disturbing, highlighted by numerous atmospheric digressions in support of the concept behind Obsession: a profound analysis of the most cruel aspects of the mental instability of ' man, derived from obsessions, paranoia and phobias.

Curently living in Lisbon, the band releases it's second album, named "Work In Progress" November 22 (2010).

Work In Progress (2010)

They  are back with another new album session. It is the second of a collection of 4. In the margins of conventional, the band invent their own way of working and present. For this third album, the band chooses to go in recording 3 songs sessions that will presented to the public as the recording will. A logic "low fi" without studio or right landing, the 5 musicians rehearse and record wherever they go using the means they find. This time, a village by the sea planted on the beautiful island of Madeira (the band thanks the City Hall and the Cultural Center  John dos Paços).

"Ponta do Sol", the 2nd session of this 3rd album, is now presented. Includes three themes sung in Portuguese, and the theme of the video "Sete." The lyrical recipe includes dissatisfaction and finding solutions, all wrapped in sarcasm. The focus on Portuguese language may or may not be repeated in the coming sessions. The themes will be available for free download until the 3rd session, on the band's website
