Shade of Hatred is a Melodic Death Metal band from De Bilt. Originating from the mind of Florian, the band descended into existence in 2011. Together with Terry as vocalist, Yannick on drums, Mark on bass and himself and Bas on guitar he set out to make the world aware of their existence.
In November 2011 Shade of Hatred made their live debut. Many more shows would follow and Mark would be replaced by Luuk. In that formation the band delivered its first release, the demo Thanatus, which received positive criticism from various websites.
In 2013 Shade of Hatred really took it a step further. Terry decided to take Luuk's place as bass player and Rik joined as vocalist. The band was complete. Based on a clear musical vision and with a passion for melody as well as brutal force, the five young but experienced members deliver strong and enthralling songs interlaced with lyrical themes ranging from old forgotten mythological tales to the cold and dark reflections of today’s society. Driven, passionate, but most of all metal. Together they perfected their craftsmanship for explosive, energetic songs and live shows.
On April the 8th 2015 the new and improved Shade of Hatred released their critically acclaimed EP 'Invidious Revelations'. It exhibits a band which has matured and evolved into a full blown metal machine.
Unfortunately due to personal reasons Terry had to leave the band shortly after the release of 'Invidious Revelations'. As a replacement the band brought in Sonia.
Expect more to come in the nearby future. The shadowing of the world has only just begun.
