BIOGRAPHY

Zé Beato was born in Huambo, a city located in the Angolan central plateau and grew between Benguela and Lobito. She started singing at 13 and 17 learned the first guitar chords and since then has always lived with this music.With ten-year career, he has played in various stages and contexts in Angola, Namibia and Portugal.

Zé Beato is co-founder of Orlei - Rock Festival Huambo, Odley and co-creator of the " Classic Meets Africa", that through intercultural Classical music unites the spirit and rhythms and African dances. This project are part of great artists such as Ana Maria Pinto, Allatantou Dance Company, Joana Peres, Miguel Gullander, Eliseu Silva and many others​​.With Bantu deep voice and perfect high notes, is considered one of the best artistic and musical waste of Angola , where sound records which are different from kuduro and kizomba are not valued.

In 2009, along with Wilker Flowers and Sonia Ferreira founded the Rock Festival Huambo, currently Orlei, initiating a cultural movement that today affects people of all Angola. Was the ground in 2011 Orlei, in Huambo and in the following editions accompanied by his band "Os Desempregados", with musicians Gavião, Costinha, O Toque é Esse, Bona Ska e Rattu Imortal, and perfomed in  Avalanche Rock / Metal Rock in Rio Catumbela 1st and 2nd edition, Rockultura festivals.

In 2009 he released a debut EP called "Estranho Atractor  - Boomerang Kármico (EP - 2009)" in Darkwave Style, this album features three powerful songs which are contained several different pictures of society and human philosophy. The line up consistis in: Miguel Gullander: Lyrics and vocals, Zé Beato: guitars and vocals & Dynamite Napoleon: music composition, keys, edition and mastering.

In 2014 he recorded and independently released his first album , and called it "CRU". On this album he tries to show his roots and presents us with its eleven older songs recorded with only a guitar and a voice, without edits, effects or mastering. This is an album done in the simplest way possible, with the lowest possible budget and completely independently.

In 2014 and 2015 was musician invited by the Instituto Camões in Namibia to act in the festivities of the Portuguese language. In 2015 he was in prime conservatory hall of Lisbon, live with Ana Maria Pinto, João Luís and Joana Peres at Le Foyer, presenting the project "Meet Xinganje & Kaviula" which had its first performance at Café Rivoli Concert, and November and December at the Porto Ateneu Commercial  and Casa Bo.

Currently he is working on recording two new and original albums: The first are being recorded in Portugal with the Soprano Ana Maria Pinto; this album will be called "Meet Xinganje & Kaviula ", this album features a selection of songs from a universe in which world music and kilapanga unite to classical music. The album features the participation of percussionist João Luís; and "Songbook Lòmundò", an album that will come with the same spirit of independence CRU, with new songs written and composited by himself.  At the same time , preparing the release of his next solo album in the same format as the first one, where all the work takes place in home studios and the more acoustic as possible.
