BIOGRAPHY
The seed for Kataphero was planted 14 years ago when David and Paulo first started playing around in bands at the same metal scene. This seed has now flourished and became the ultimate and most serious artistic project for them both. Even before thir first release, the band has already made some acomplishments such as playing at importan national level festivals, headlining a show in Recife and creating and producing a 2 date soldout conceptual theater concert/spectacle that changed the standards for metal shows in Natal, their home town in Brazil.
Kataphero is a hard-to-label metal band that has 1 demo and 2 full-length albums: "Life" (2012) and "From Dust", a conceptual album released in april 2015. Their first debut album was released in 2012 under the title ''Life'', and can be downloaded for free on their website. The band was responsible for opening Rotting Christ's gig in Rio Grande do Norte in 2012.
They have been nominated for the Hangar Award as "Band of The Year" in 2014. Played important Festivals like April Pro Rock and Festival do Sol. Supported bands like Krisiun, Sepultura, Rotting Christ, Sodom, Dead Kennedys among others. ... more.
"From Dust" is the frist of the two-piece conceptual album about the myth of the human origins. The storyline, a Tragedy, revolves around the only reminiscent of a nomad tribe extinguished 13 thousand years ago.
Under a primal perspective, Kataphero builds the dense atmosphere in which 9 songs invite us to a visceral trip to the desolated landscape where the body and mind of a primitive child develops completely on it's own.
