Aeveron - VVD - Destination Annihilation (Full-Length Album - 2015) - Bandcamp Stream

BIOGRAPHY
In March of 2002 six musicians in the following line-up: Thomas (vocals), Kay (lead guitar), Robert (rhythm guitar), Markus (keyboards), Dirk (bass), Paul (drums), founded AEVERON.
Soon it became apparent that the created pieces could hardly be assigned to one specific musical style. But since the so called “stereotypical thinking” has become indispensible even in the music scene, AEVERON consider that the term “Melodic Sweden Death”seems to be adequate as an orientation.

Aeveron recorded and released their self- produced first demo CD “Demo 2003”, which, besides receiving positive acclaim from the metal press, also provided them with numerous club and festival gigs across the eastern part of Germany.

Release of “Construality” (through Northern Silence Productions) on the 30th of October 2004 incl. concert.

On September 2005 their rhythm guitarist Robert decided to leave the band for personal reasons

On April 2006 Aeveron could finally find the long looked-for and competent substitute on the 6-stringed harp in Matthias.

Release of the EP “The Ancient Realm” (through CastaMere Records, no deal though) on the 25th of December 2006 incl. concert.

On July 2007 They breakup with lead guitarist Kay due to personal misunderstandings.

On October 2008 they released a new record “Existential Dead End” through Battlegod Productions from Australia (release end of September/beginning of October) Aeveron are welcoming Alex on the second guitar.

The album was followed up with a record release Party @ Asgard Pub in Annaberg-Buchholz (25/12/08).

On September 2011 they released  the Album “Impending Doom”.

On September 2012 Matthias and Alex leave the band due to personal reasons.

On November 2012 Jens joins AEVERON as new guitar player.

On MAY 2015 they Released  the Album “VVD – Destination Annhilation”, is an awesome 10-track album that blew my fucking mind because I’ve heard more than my fair share of black metal, and hearing it in a very melodic form sounded like absolute heaven to me.

Aeveron really hit the nail on the goddamn head with this album. The vocals in this went from being the raw, raspy sound that us black metal fans know all too well to a more smoother sound that really brought the melody while still being perfectly in tune with the ripping guitars and bashing drums. And even though I’ve no idea in the slightest what the “VVD” means in the title, but the “Destination Annihilation” part is literally shown in 9 out of the 10 tracks off of the album and they do not disappoint in the slightest. What’s the leftover one track, you ask? An instrumental track that’s purely guitar, bringing a much more different tone – a peaceful one – that brought a whole new dimension that Aeveron didn’t show before that in the album. But after those 2 minutes are up and done, it’s straight back to the melodic black metal to which I had zero complaints. “VVD Destination Annihilation” is a great album that should be heard by fans of melodic metal, black metal, and/or both because this album does not disappoint with it’s crushing yet catchy sound.

The album “VVD Destination Annihilation”  is simply incredible. This small independent band, with only about 2000 likes on Facebook, will blow you away with their Swedish Melodic Death sound. These guys deserve to be known.

AEVERON are really on par with the best of Melodic Death Metal out there. Give them a good listen, you won’t be disappointed. For fans of the genre, this is a must have in my humble opinion. This is their 4th full-length album, which makes me wonder why I didn’t get to hear them before today. I have some catching up to do now.
