BIOGRAPHY
Formed in late 2013 Stormtide is a six piece symphonic fantasy metal band from Australia. Epic meets metal in their painstakingly crafted musical adventures. While there are distinct similarities to be found within their songs with other artists of a similar calibre, their sound is entirely their own – effortlessly blending black, folk, oriental and symphonic metals to create a truly unique experience.
Combining the intensity and fury of the riffs created by expert guitar playing with the epic orchestral scores Stormtide is a force to be reckoned with. Often lauded for giving an “over the top” experience live, Stormtide has a prolific live history playing alongside major international acts.
After the release of their debut EP “A Skalds Tale” Stormtide has shared the stage with a multitude of incredible artists supporting the likes of Gloryhammer (UK), Finntroll (FIN) and countless others. Having been met with the overwhelmingly positive response of their latest single “As Two Worlds Collide” Stormtide was working hard on their debut Album.
On August 1st, 2016 the band released their debut full length album "Wrath of an Empire" via Metal Hell Records. Wrath of an Empire is a nine part epic, which contains stories of ruin, heroism and dark deeds. With the albums huge orchestral movements, crushing guitar riffs and guttural vocals Wrath of an Empire succeeds where many have failed in joining epic metal with epic story.
Taking influence from European and Asian styles of music Stormtide has expertly crafted an album that appeals to traditionalists and fans of new metal alike. Effortlessly transitioning between blast beat to soul wrenching quiet passages – no two pieces of music on the album are alike. This is an album without filler songs, without cliches and without mercy!
