Hyperion is a Swedish Extreme Metal Band formed Stockholm in 2007. Taking influences from the 90's black and death metal scene and combining them with epic and melodic music, the band has released a few independent demos since then. The most recent one of those is the “Blood of the Ancients” demo.
Seraphical Euphony is the debut album of Swedish Extreme Metal band Hyperion. The release is being handled by Black Lion Productions.
Seraphical Euphony was recorded between 2013 and 2015 in Scarecrow Recordings, Forlorn Halls Studios and on various private locations in Stockholm, Sweden. Mixed and mastered by Sverker Widgren at Wing Studios. Artwork for the front and back-cover of this album was drawn by Alex Tartsus. The Hyperion logo was drawn by Christophe Szpajdel. The band photo was taken and edited by Joel Hagroth.
Super-fast classic black metal with true atmosphere — this sounds like it’s been done before! Perhaps it has, yet this fact does not detract from Seraphical Euphony, which is so all-encompassingly fantastic that you may actually experience separation anxiety. Ultimately, ‘Seraphical Euphony’ is an album full of excellent black/death metal, with spiralling fretwork frenzies, delicate acoustics and so many riffs. You’ll really feel the quality of tracks like ‘Zephyr of Grace’ when you’re humming the insatiable melodies for the next week. No single track on the album comes across as more inclined towards either one of the two genres that they are perfectly melding together, creating a very solid album without any filler. This is one of the strongest debut albums I have heard in recent years and I wouldn’t have guessed that the band is relatively new, having only formed in 2007.
