While Sun Ends, consisting of Carlo Leone, Enrico Brugali, and Massimo Tedeschi started in 2008. After searching for a singer for six months, Serena Caracchi joined the group creating a new band influenced by death metal and progressive rock making it possible to complete their recording of the record titled “Exile”. "Exile" is described by critics as the beginning of a promising career and had a positive evaluation in the most reviews.
During 2009 and 2010, While Sun Ends elaborated its ideas creating new sounds. Meanwhile, the band began to test their impact by playing in pubs and musical theaters in the Northern part of Italy. The band built successes in Bergamo, Milan, Brescia and Cremona.
In April of 2011 they began recording eight songs that will be part of the new debut album titled “The Emptiness Beyond”. The lyrics speak about the contradictions of the human nature and also tell stories of three different female figures. Through the years, their range of musical styles grew and they were influenced also by modern and post metal, which can be heard in the new cd. “The Emptiness Beyond” is entirely self-produced with the help of some friends involved in other bands including Antti Loponen (Consciousness Removal Project), Rubens "Crono" Bertini (Hungry Like Rakovitz), Matteo Bonera and Jonathan Panada (Sunpocrisy), Giuseppe Falco (Triste Colore Rosa).
Terminus is the second full-length album by While Sun Ends released via WOOAAARGH on August 26, 2016, this release is something of a new dawn for the Italian prog outfit as it’s the first to feature new female vocalist Stefania Torino, along with some other line-up changes. As with their debut, this release has growly death vocals competing with Stefania’s soothing harmonies. While Sun Ends embrace that well executed combination of explosive death metal style charges interlaced with softer passages, a style reminiscent of Swedish giants Katatonia and Opeth with the obvious caveat of the female vocals. While throwing in three Swedish names we make as well make it three, as the broken timechanges and stop-start riffs are also Meshuggah-like in places, although without the savage kick.
Terminus is a journey through knowledge, an act which builds cyclic ties with contacts, experiences and memory. 8 tracks of death metal and progressive rock mixed by Riccardo “Paso” Pasini (Ephel Duath, Handful of Hate, Blindead, Sunpocrisy...) @ Studio73 (Ravenna – Italy) and mastered by Collin Jordan (Voivod, Pelican, Eyehategod, Ministry) @ Boiler Room Studio (Chicago).
While Sun Ends is constantly growing and exploring different sounds, hoping that the public enjoys their style of music that is rich in influence. The conclusion is that you hear today.
